2024/2025 Crop

The 2024/2025 Ethiopian coffee harvest is shaping up to be one of the strongest in recent years. Rainfall patterns across the southern highlands have been near-ideal, with well-distributed precipitation during the growing season followed by a drier cherry-maturation period. Early cupping results from Guji and Yirgacheffe washing stations are showing exceptional clarity and complexity, with SCA scores consistently reaching 85+. Sidama lots are displaying the bright, citric acidity the region is known for, while Harrar naturals are delivering their signature blueberry and wine-like profiles. We are currently releasing washed lots from Guji Hambela Wamena and expect Yirgacheffe Kochere lots to clear quality control by mid-March. Availability is strong — contact us early to secure your preferred profiles and volumes.

What to Expect From Each Region This Season

Guji

Guji continues to be Ethiopia's most dynamic specialty region. The Hambela Wamena and Uraga woredas are producing lots with outstanding floral complexity and stone-fruit sweetness. Washed lots show jasmine and peach, while naturals deliver blueberry-forward profiles. Early arrivals are cupping exceptionally well this season.

Yirgacheffe

Yirgacheffe remains the benchmark for Ethiopian washed coffees. This season's Kochere and Gedeb lots are showing bright bergamot and lemon acidity with a silky body. Processing standards at washing stations continue to improve, resulting in cleaner cups and more consistent scoring across micro-lots.

Sidama

Sidama's high-altitude kebeles — particularly Bensa and Nensebo — are delivering balanced, versatile coffees this season. Expect citric acidity, brown sugar sweetness, and clean finishes. These lots are ideal for roasters seeking approachable specialty coffees with broad appeal.

Harrar

Harrar naturals are arriving earlier than usual this season thanks to favourable drying conditions. The trademark wild-berry and wine-like character is present, with improved consistency from cooperatives that have invested in raised-bed drying infrastructure.
